Halloween was always a fun time for me growing up. I loved dressing up and going trick or treating. I will never forget that one of my neighbors would dress as a witch and she would tell spooky stories.

I had one very unusual Halloween. I was very small, maybe 4 or 5 years old. My dad took me trick or treating and we stopped at a house I had never been to before. A woman answered the door and there were a lot of kids there. She asked me "are you the little girl that lives down the street?" I said yes and she gave me a big pumpkin that my dad had to carry home. What was unusual was that there was an infinity sign on the pumpkin. I have never forgotten that Halloween, and I didn't even get candy;O)

Back in the seventies a lot of people used to go door to door for treats. Even adults would dress up to fool friends. Most people love to have parties now. I had one for niece and nephews when they were small.

Last year and the year before, I dressed up as a she devil. The announcer loved my outfit on the ghost train in the mountains. That was so much fun. This year will be low key, as we are travelling the next day to see kin.

2008 we had a few trick or treaters. This year may be different because of the H1N1 virus. Parents may opt for closer to home treating, or take the kids to church sponsored "Trunk or Treating"

do you know its really strange but here a lot of people find it a nuisance when kids knock the door at night !! some think its a bad thing to celebrate witchcraft as such ... me i think it seems good fun lol luv sue xx
