Ok...thankfully I added 15 mins to my TiVo..otherwise I would have missed the best song of the night...
I am NOT a fan of Adam overall...but that performance last night was UNREAL!!! I have watched it five times....WOW! "We have chosen hope over fear" -President Barack Obama Jan 20, 2009 |

Matt - safe Lil - bottom 3 -safe Scott - bottom 3 - off Anoop - bottom 3 - safe Kris - safe Allison - safe Danny - safe Adam - safe Nice to see Frankie Avalon singing Venus (1959). He still has that dreamboat look Great sound from Flo Rida...they rocked the floor. Kelly Pickler was beautiful. She sang "Best days of your life". James and I were kind of luke warm on the song, but she is a good singer. The group song "Can't get you out of my head" (2002)...lukewarm. I wish Scott all the best. I preordered on Itunes: Mad World - Adam Lambert Part time Lover - Matt Giraud All she wants to do is dance - Kris Allen Love, Janet |

The Top 7: Allison Iraheta sang "I don't want to miss a thing" from the movie "Armagedon"(sp?) She was wearing one black glove. She definately has her own style thingy going on. I thought she was kind of breathy to begin with, but over all it was a great performance. Judges: Paula called it "Authentic" "Remarkable" Simon "The girl's only hope in this competition. Anoop Desai sang: "Everything I do, I do it for you" from the movie "Robinhood". I could really see the emotion in Anoop's face as he sang this song. Great job Anoop Adam Lambert sang "Born to be wild" from the movie "Easy Rider". Wow!!!! Hot! Audience screaming! Paula "Dare to dance in the face of greatness" Simon "Last week more original" "vocally good" Matt Giraud sang "To really love a woman" from the movie "Don Juan De Marco" I thought he was off key in places. Lukewarm on his version. I wouldn't buy it. Judges: Randy "Pitchy" "Interesting" "Not one of his best" Kris Allen sang "Falling Slowly" from the movie "Once". The start of the song just didn't grab me. I am not sure it was the best song to showcase his vocals. I didn't really like the song. Judges-Kara: "Best Moments" Randy "Never quite caught on for me". Danny Gokey sang "Endless Love" from the movie "Endless Love" One note was kind of off. Not really thrillin' me with this version. Judges: Paula - "Beautiful Rendition" Simon: "Disappointed with the harp" "traditional" Lil Rounds sang "The Rose". I think I am spoiled by Bette Midler's version. This song was sung at my wedding Tonight the first 3 in this list won my kudos: Allison Anoop Adam Bottom 3 picks: Lil Rounds Kris Allen Matt Giraud Run off between: Matt Giraud Danny Gokey Off - Lil Rounds There are only 3 this season that really thrill me vocally. Adam, Allison, and I do like Kris. Anoop did a good job tonight too, bringing out more emotion. Carrie underwood caliber?...hmmm, not this season. Looks like it will be down to Adam and Allison. Adam is consistantly wowing the audience. Allison has powerful vocals. Good luck to both Love, Janet |

I think the bottom three will be:\
Lil Matt Anoop Matt should go. I too am very frustrated with Lil. I KNOW she has a great voice but she seems flustered with picking the correct song. It is CLEAR that Simon feels the same way. I want to add that I think it stunk that only 2 judges spoke at a time...I watch to hear what SIMON has to say frankly...why not cut out the silly banter that Ryan does and give the judges ALL time to speak. I also think the problem is that FOUR judges are too many. The new gal can go as far as I'm concerned. "We have chosen hope over fear" -President Barack Obama Jan 20, 2009 |

You were right Laura
Nice performance by Jennifer Hudson. She sang "If this isn't Love". She has a beautiful voice. Miley Cyrus sang "The Climb" The whole group sang "Maniac" from "flash Dance" and it was good James and I love the baby blue Ford Fusion I picked 2 out of three this time. I really thought Anoop did well last night, but he ended up being safe. I know it is a matter of time. Down to the wire, I still say...Adam and Allison I am going on vacation next week so I hope I can watch Idol at my uncle's house Love, Janet |

Last night was definately a competition. It was disco night and being a child of the 70's I loved it. I enjoyed Donna Summer and James was into the BeeGees and Saturday Night Fever.
The stakes will be high this time with two going off tonight. Ok, I will start with Anoop: He sang the Donna Summer song "Dim all the Lights" It was ok to me, but not great. Anoop is showing emotion as he sings which is wonderful, but are his vocals strong enough to win the competition? Judges: Randy "Rough last note" "Didn't love the arrangement" "nice baby nice" Kara "Great song choice" Paula "The look...the growth" "Good Job" Simon "worst Performance" "Horrible arrangement" I think Anoop will be in the bottom3 tonight. Lil Rounds sang: "I'm every woman" She was workin' it. I thought she did very well with this song. Nice save. Judges: Randy "It didn't really show what kind of vocal talent you have" Paula "Remarkable Recovery" Simon "I think this is going to be your final shot" I thought that she did a nice rebound. If she had been consistant throughout the competition, then she may have had a chance to see it through. Kris Allen sang: "She works hard for the money" Donna Summer. Loved the bongos, Loved the arrangement, Wooow on the vocals...he knocked the rockin' socks off! I'll buy this song. Kara "Took a risk" "It paid off" "Props for that" Paula "Showed Originality" Simon "That was not Karaoke" "Fantastic Performance". I agree with Simon..."Kris, Kris, Kris! Competition heating up with "Hot Stuff" Donna Summer. Singer up, Allison Iraheta. Whoa, Standing Ovation in the audience. Crowd goes wild. Me too...great performance. Randy "Over Indulgent" "One of the best singers" Kara "Picked the right song" "Best Singer" "9/10" Paula "Last note, hit it off the charts" Simon "Brilliant Performance" She has got the vocal talent. Good luck, honey. Adam Lambert sang "If I can't have you" from Saturday Night Fever. Adam came on wearing a suit with the Elvis hairstyle. He wears it well. There is no doubt that Adam can sing and his originality is becoming Legend. His vocals are unique and strong. Adam gives us a ride with each arrangement. Judges: Randy "You are ready right now" Kara " You're Brilliant" Paula "I felt your pain" "You're Awesome" Footnote: "When an artist can sing to bring out emotion in a song, then they have made the song their own" Matt Giraud sang "Stayin' Alive" BeeGees Saturday Night Fever. Matt tried to hit the falsetto high notes, but a few notes didn't quite hit the mark for me. The lower notes were great. To me, not his best vocals. The judges: Kara "Solid" Randy "Didn't love the arrangement" "You can really sing" Paula "Strike" "Good Performance" (But this is not Bowling and his score overall has been up and down) A spare at best. Was he trying to hit those high notes like Adam to impress? Simon: "Desparate Vocals" "Didn't think they were great" Lol, I am agreeing with Simon...call 911...hahaha! Danny Gokey sang "September" Earth, Wind, and Fire. I was thinking that the arrangement was karaoke, and too much like the original. No wow. Good, but not great. Randy "You turned it into something good for you" Kara "Incredible Vocalist" "Solid Performance" Simon "Awkward and clumbsy" My picks for bottom3: Anoop Matt Giraud Danny Gokey My reasons for the picks: Anoops vocals are just not strong enough to win the competition. He is likable, and I enjoy hearing him sing though. I like the way he is showing more emotion as he sings. Best wishes, Anoop. I think Matt's time has come too, and I do like his voice though. Danny's song choice just didn't thrill me this time round. Too close to the original version. I think he will be around next week. my alternate on bottom three would be Lil Rounds. Her performance last night was very good, and we even thought of voting for her to show support for her "Save" last night. But, we liked other performances too. She needs to keep that confidence level up. Will her performance be good enough to keep her from bottom 3? Audience approval awaits. I liked her performance last night. Either way, good luck honey. Music...ambrosia for the soul, Janet |

Not shocked that Lil is gone..too bad, I think her inexperience got the best of her...but she CAN sing.
Anoop going was a bit of a surprise... but ALLISON in the bottom THREE....WHAT THE? I am shocked Matt went thru...I just don't get that guy.... And I think I am kinda over Adam...I know he can sing but his schtick is wearing very OLD with me. I would like to see either Danny or Allison win. WHAT A NIGHT! The best night so far. DANNY knocked my socks off...and so did Allison..goosebumps for both... Adam was solid as always but I am just over him. LOL! I am hoping that Matt goes, but I worry that it might be Allison because she is a girl and I am guessing that girls will be voting for the guys left.. Bye Matt.
A bit surprised Adam was in bottom two. Was he there because he had the second least amount of votes..or was he put there for drama by the exec's. I wanted Matt to go...but I was secrely hoping it would be Adam and watch everyone FREAK. I replayed the show for my boys and the BOTH liked Adam over Danny...grrrrr. LOL When I watched Alison again..I actually cried. She was REALLY fantastic. Seriously..I am floored by this girl "We have chosen hope over fear" -President Barack Obama Jan 20, 2009 |

Wow, wow, wow! I agree what performances. I have been busy so I am behind, but I will just say about last night...they are soooo good
Danny sang his heart out with "Come Rain or Shine"...whoop! whoop! - Safe Matt sang "My Funny Valentine" I love, love, love this song, but his version last night just didn't start out good. I liked the ending though, and I thought he sang it better tonight. - Off. Adam sang Feeling Good - I like his version and I was shocked too when he was in the bottom three - Safe. Allison - Sang "Someone to watch over me" Loved her version...Safe...so glad, because she has the pipes Kris - Bottom3, I was surprised at this too, but they are getting down to the wire. I am glad Kris is safe too. Wonderful performance by Natalie Cole. I love her voice and she is so beautiful. I bought her cd that has unforgettable, autumn leaves, route 66...I love the "straighten up and fly right" song...hehehe. I wish her the best on her tour and I hope her health continues to improve:O) She is Class Taylor Hicks from season 5 sang 7 mile breakdown...great performance. Jamie rocked the stage with "Blame it" I think this group evolved...listened, learned, and loved what they are doing. They are coming to Greensboro, and since they are close enough...I think we are going to get tickets. Love, Janet |

Been lookin' for some good tix. They go on sale thru ticketmaster on May 9th at 10:00 am, but the ticket brokers are already selling them.
Seats are $40.50 $55.50 and $69.50 until the brokers get them. I saw seats for $72.00@ for upper tier...which is catty corner to the left side of the stage behind the "alien" sound crew. Last time they had a big green alien tied to the sound equipment...hahaha! I would like to get tix in 117 which is behind the sound crew, but more center stage. On the ground floor you wouldn't really be able to see. I would like to be up a tier...unless I got front row... but $808.00 to $1000.00 for front row? Praying for a reasonably priced ticket Love, Janet |

I was saddened to hear about that. Prayers and Sympathy goes out to his family during this time. We were at the hospital with James dad today when they interviewed David on tv about his brother.

I am going to try and see if we can get the tix soon. I hope to get a ticket minus the broker/scalper...if possible.
Read the tv guide interview on Simon Cowell. He may leave Idol after next season. Good quick story. Love, Janet |

Wow, This was "Roxy on the Sunset strip" night on Idol. "Slash" was on hand as a mentor.
Adam sang "Whole Lotta Love" Whoa! Hot!! Go Adam! Audience goes wild...standing O's. Randy: "Yo, this is the Adam, I love" Kara: "You are a Rockstar" Paula: "A whole lotta Perfect" Simon: "One of the best performances you have done". According to the TV Guide article, Simon thinks it will be between Adam and Danny. Duet Night - Allison and Adam sang "Slow Ride" by Foghat. Randy: "That was the Bomb" Kara: "Duet was right" Paula: "Totally in Sync" I loved the performance Duet Night - Kris and Danny sang: "Renegade" Randy: "Like the harmonies" Kara: "United and Strong" Paula: "It was Powerful" Simon:"Danny better than Kris" I enjoyed it Danny Gokey sang "Dream On" I thought he was off key in places and the scream...didn't quite get there. He tried though, but it felt like he was straining his voice big time. I have been buying the Idol songs on Itunes, but this song I will pass on. Randy: "It was alright" Kara: "Took it alittle too far" Paula: "Tricky Genre" "Wasn't my favorite" Simon: "It was like watching Friday the 13th". He tried to sing this song too close to the original with that high scream that didn't go over too well. At this point in the competition there should be more originality and less trying to sound like someone else. I like Danny, but I think he is in trouble with this song. Kris Allen Sang "Come Together". I loved it, but then, I love Beatles songs. And his guitar playing is cool. Randy: "Liked the vocals" "Enjoyed it" Kara: "Not a great performance" Paula: "It is what you do with it" Simon: "I didn't like it that much" "Boring" Allison Iraheta sang: "Cry Baby" by Janis Joplin. She can do the Janis Joplin sound. I also liken her voice a bit to Bonnie Raitt too. I thought this performance was OK, but it was just that. Randy: "Didn't Love the Song" "Wasn't that great for you" Kara: "I think you Transform" Paula: "Down right Fearless" Simon: "Terrific vocal" "Sound Alike". I think she may be in trouble too. I will buy on Itunes: "Whole Lotta Love" "Slow Ride" "Come Together" and Renegade" My pick to win is Adam because he has been consistantly "Wow FACTOR"...stage presence and stage performance. I have bought several Idol songs this season and most of them have been Adam's. I have enjoyed the competition this year...minus the cry baby start of Idol. I am more interested in the singing talent. How can Simon leave after next year? He is so much a part of the show...OK...producers give the man a raise, walk his dog, buy him a BMW... anything Bottom 3 Danny Gokey - Dream On Allison Iraheta - Cry Baby Kris Allen - Come Together I think Allison will go home tomorrow night. Love, Janet |
