First thing is it is nice to know the album is released. I live in Atlanta, GA. I have been to malls and places and such periodically and have learned that the album was released nearly 2 months ago. Unsure whatever promotions were being done. But, I don't think it penetrated to the general public (i = general public)

Another thing I noticed is: the website has a video that plays everytime you enter the official webpage is opened. The "Amazing" video. At the time of this post it has been played 99,614 (5 days old) times. Whilst there is is yet another vidoe that is also available it is called "mic Sesions.' This video has been played 108,515 (2 months old) times.

I imagine the people want to know more about Seal and How he does what He does. The media is starving off the public to serve of any real meaty portions or tid-bits. I had said some time ago that Seal could use a bit of info release into the public mainstream and here we find a video by some - Mic Sessions - a show I have never heard of.. but that is not hard, since I do not watch Television.

I hope the lbum does well. At some point I will buy it (of course) and I will listen to it. But honestly - I am not a big clubber or a guy who likes alot of dance music and synths. While I am young enough to remember Duran DUran and the big hair 80's it is nice to replay some of it from time to time. I just hope that on this album there is not to much to get away from and something enough to go to, in the album so I won't have to eject the cd and play something less brain bashing.

Also the white suit is awesome. Not enough pressence in the suit I feel. Part are hanging off and are soft an the illumination makes it look a woman can come out of the crowd and touch the hem of the garment (and by her faith be healed.) I would have thought Seal would have wanted something more memorable in a photo like 2pacs last photos in his all white suit (I ain't mad at cha') where he wore the f*#$ out that suit and made that look good. For all men of color regardless of social standing and background, wish to wear an all white suit and make it look as good.

nice to see you posting again Gareth ..missed your input. i think you will like the album i do a lot but then it is seal lol. its not boom boom dance its pleasant and lively...if i can find the link there is a countdown that seal put up where you can hear all the songs and he explains what they are about... ill go look and if i can find it i'll put it up for you .hope your well mate take care luv sue xx

Hi there Gareth,

not to sound like a SMART A**, but any SEAL Music Lover can Google (or whatever source is being used) the Net and find out very quickly when SEALs new work will be released. SEAL.com is a great source for all types of info and SEAL (and/or his administrators) made sure his Web Site had the information on it about his new ALBUM.

In addition, if you did a SEAL search on the WWW, there were all types of announcements about this new album!!!

GRMNCHCK, I think he is talking about advertising, or lack of, in the malls and such. Like in the music stores. Not everyone has a computer, or has access to one. There are over 5,000 members on this board and Seal has over 7,000 fans on his myspace friends list, but there are millions of music lovers. Seal should be promoted more on the grass roots level...in the music stores and back on the radio. Yes, it is more traditional, but it also makes sense to do both traditional and digital marketing. Radio is still an effective tool to reach wider audiences.

I may be wrong, but I think that is what he meant. I know what he is talking about, because when I go to my local mall, I check and see how much Seal music is available. I have called my local radio station and asked them if they play Seal's music. The radio station called me back and said they had Love's Divine and KFAR on rotation.

The problem is that clear channel sets the airplay for it's stations. I was told that when I called the station. Gone are the days of Wolfman Jack (a dj) and call ins...except for Delilah, and her show is more "talk" than music.

Seal.com has done a wonderful job keeping us up to date with the System album though... for those of us who do have computers.

I seen the track list and I made an error. "what I wanted to say" is not on the album. That is the song I was referring to . The rest of the album can wait a while. I am enjoying this song far too much.

and yes. BOS that is what I meant. There is a type of standardized advertising now that perhaps comes in a box. Perhaps, it is that crooners or mega stars don't get promoted the same way. it may be another all together different mode of advertising. Like past notes of the boyfriend of one of the models (victoria secret model - Alesandro Ambrossio) was rumored or said to have been a club owner in New York. ALl of the Big parties and such after Grammy, Golden Globes etc. may have been promised to play Seal's arrangements etc. More and more.

I guess once your established you don't have to work as hard to get where your wanting to go. While all of that may be true. I want (and for good reason) Seal to win a few more Grammy(s) before taking it easy in any sort of rocking chair.

BillBoard Charts

Says top position of the single was #2 but moved down to #8 recently and has been on the charts some 8 weeks now. If your like me and want to do some figuring. I view it this way. There is not enough ammunition firstly, for the album to rate. the next problem is there are not alot of songs that support the song that did make the charts. Are the charts that important? No. They are not. Could Seal make a song or two that can easily gain chart recognition and garner him a few grammy(s)? Yes.


Then,
the question is what is the overall problem? -
Has Seal been a big club music guy who makes songs technoed and big and lush with synths? As I remember it was alot of the Dj's doing that with the music he had made and then they pumped it up and made it CLub music. But, the music Seal made was music that gave him grammy nominations.

So where then is the error? It could be from Seal producing a Music Album and not letting others pump his music up and instead putting his own pump to it *which then leaves less room for your mainstream Dj's to put their pump to it.

So then what is the way back to being Seal? I certainly do not know if the textual openness of Seal is or will reappear to confront us in the ideals of our lives the context which enriches us and reamplifies our special hopes and best sentiments in a song as he has always done, but with more appeal. Problem is everysong he makes has such a universal appeal that many refuse to listen to it. I listened to the commentary of the director - Oliver Stone for the movie he did ALEXANDER (colin Farell, Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins) One of the things the director spoke on was to not make it become a lesson (this is when the Teacher Aristotle was speaking to the young children). Seal's music is one that opens up in honesty and enriches. I dar not say preachy. But for many who wish to pass the time absent of self reflexion it would then be necesssary for Seal to produce something almost shallow, in order to become considerate of the standards of the mainstream want.

Is that saying Seal is above the industry In terms of music lyrics and text in speech he is. Then, He shold be respected and admired for years to come. Without more Grammy wins. He will always be nominated. So the way to get around it now is to produce and write for other artist and to do entire musical scores for movies and the like. As a safeguard I see that as being a measure of protection to ones own integrity while still acomplishing the individual ideal of what is needed. Hopefully there is a script out there that needs just this kind of work. If not give me some time..

Mainly, is it not ironic that there is a lot going on within the Universe itself and we have the capacity to learn and study from it? But our Planet with us as the custodians have pretty much ignored the bigger picture.

It says a lot but mainly with silence it seems.

Only a few listen.. many of us here on this Planet feel that they are above it somehow and prefer to tell others how the Universe wants them to be. How dare they!

Universal appeal is difficult yes. But people weather they listen or not...know the feeling of unconditional Love... as long as there is nothing to teach and no conclusion of a lesson to be learned, those that have ears will hear.

For therein, exploration of the individual to further find out who they are and how they can project unconditional Love to EVERYONE and Everything becomes the paramount goal to living a happy life.

But it is not the norm.

It seems the norm, is 'get me what I want then I'll help you'. Well that norm does not work for me although it does have it's place within business.

That's the beauty of music you listen and take with you what you brought to it. And if you're really good in your observations the wavelengths will penetrate and transport you into different realms of who you are. If you are lucky.

Music is universal for it is based upon energy wavelengths and stuff like that. But special to this Planet it appears.

Which is not at all easy. Which is why I say it a lot.


Ebb and flow is the way of most things including music, sales, marketing etc.

I can't say it is the way of All things cause I don't know that... yet!
