German supermodel HEIDI KLUM's $2.5 million (GBP1.4 million) modelling contract with VICTORIA'S SECRET bans her from marrying singer boyfriend SEAL.

The American firm forced Klum to agree to a clause in her contract with them, banning her from "altering her image" - which marriage would do.

According to German magazine GALA, Victoria's Secret bosses regarded Klum's pregnancy and the recent birth of her daughter LENI equally "image hurting" - and the model had to work out furiously to regain her figure for a fashion shoot just 34 days after the birth, or risk the termination of her contract.

Klum has been dating Seal since splitting from ex-lover, motor racing boss FLAVIO BRIATORE - who is the father of baby Leni.

It is sad that a contract can dictate what you can and can't do with your life. Why can't she be a sexy model, mom, and wife? Somebody needs to renegotiate that contract. I thought the modeling industry was ruthless but this is ridiculous.

About the situtation... According to Heidi, "Fairy tale hour in the Gala. My international agency Modelmanagement could have given information, which correspond to the truth. If one gets its source with an inexperienced coworker of a normal agency, such fairy tales come off."

Thanks for clearing that up Ebvoka! LOL If they didn't null the contract after her pregnancy I can't see how they'd prevent her from marrying

all i can say is being a model is her job, and loving seal should be her life...seems to me there is no choice here, or there shouldn't be. now if they don't want to marry, then who cares...but that is also their business, though i wouldn't mind if seal wanted to call and talk about it!

I think we have to see it from a more positive side, too: this contract will not last for ever, so, if they really love each other, they can marry after. I think we should see the positive sides: Heidi contributes a little to their budget ($2,5 million!!!) and they have more time to try out how they daily life together works.
But of course I also think, that such contracts are cruel, and they should not be allowed. Model business is hard, but it is not bad payed.

Not badly paid??? I wish I could make 10% of that income...would last me a life-time!!! Or just think of what type of SEAL FEST we all could have together.

I do think it is almost unbelievable and quite absurd that the model industry would put such a clause into their contracts. Especially in today's age and time!!! Not sure what they are trying to accomplish with this stipulation. Because it is very obvious that Heidi is a MOM now and that Heidi and Seal are together.

Hmmm...the best way to look at this is that it is Heidi's business on how she sets up her life. I am sure she knows exactly what she is doing. After all, she is very well-known for having a great mind no matter if it comes to living life or the business aspect of it. Go - Heidi - Go!!!

I find this very interesting. Many models and former models have married and had families during their careers; to name a few, Elle MacPherson, Christy Brinkley and many more (It did not seems to harm their careers!).

i dont care how much heidi makes or how beautiful she is...she is lucky to have a man like seal by her side contract or not, she can afford to live her life anyway she wants is modeling bra's the most important thing in the world, or is the love of her family and her man more important. i am sure any gossip news show would love to get ahold of this story and victorias secret would come out looking bad,not her. not alot of men would raise a child like it was his own, without reservation...seal is special, and frankly way more special than her.

Sorry guys but there is a post here that states the story is untrue someone at Heidi's modelling firm made a booboo and misinformed the tabloid. So lets just drop it now . I think the couple will marry when they are both ready.

OH! I forgot to mentioned Yasmin LeBon (wife of Duran Duran's Simon LeBon). Her career was strong after she married and gave birth to their three daughters (she's retired now)!

I personally believe the writer made up the story because he/she had nothing to write about. So, they made up false stories about them because they are so popular. As a result, the magazine can make a lot of money from that.

thanks for that "clip". reading through everyone's comments, I feel them "smoking" with wise suggestions and re-actions. it means everyone here is keeping it real.
