Old man Honeycutt walked from Pyatt to his home 2 miles away. He was crossin' Crooked Creek, when his wife heard him callin' "Sissy, come and get me...I'm somewhere over the moon" (the moon was shining on the water).

A couple of fans have either pmed me or chatted with me about technical issues with the new blog. It seems that Windows 98 and IE will not load the flash page properly. I have recommended a browser change to Opera 6, or Firefox to see if that will help the situation. If anyone else can add some solutions please do.

The next situation was with the blog and a Mac. One fan has not been able to get on the site properly since the summer. Could there be a Safari/Wordpress conflict? The fan can't access the links at the top of the blog either. Sometimes they get a Syntax Error message.

If anyone else has had problems loading pages, or accessing links or the site, then please post the problem in this thread so the webmaster will know.

Thanks, Janet

I access the site through Safari sometimes and have no issues. Wordpress has a strong Mac user base. I really can't tell you why they are having difficulty.

IE is, perhaps, the most prehistoric web browser available. I;d really urge everyone to switch and take advantage of all the net has to offer. Using Windows 98 will definitely limit your web experience.

Thanks Michael,

I'll check with Sweet'n shy and see if she loaded a new browser, and maybe Angus will be in soon and I can ask him if he is still having issues with wordpress.

Also, depending on whether a person is on dialup, dsl, or high speed internet can make a difference in loading pages, watching videos, or listening to music.

Sometimes people get flustrated when a page takes a long time to load, or a song/video buffers alot.

Peace, Janet

Thats a given, its a media site, however. One more given is that the net evolves so quickly these days, the only way to take advantage of it's progress is staying current with updates.

There's simply too much fun to be had...

Michael,

Some fans are still having issues with the Gaia flash intro on seal.com. My browser crashes often where I have to restart my computer. The bottom line is that some fans will not be able to access the site from the front door.

You can still access the word press pages by accessing different links:

http://www.seal.com/blog/2007/09/26/amazing/

I feel that the site should be easily accessed by both Safari and IE users. Not everyone can afford to go out and buy brand new macs or pcs.

But then again, we have had this discussion on the board before about making seal.com accessible for the sight impaired with little results.

To make sure that all your clients can access the pages you could make an "intro" page with a link to a page with no flash and go straight to the word press pages. You could also make a skip intro link. The people that are able to see the flash page can access it and the people that can't can go straight into the word press.

At this point, I have heard that people are not bothering to check the site because of the "crashing" browser problems.

I love the flash...it is so cool, but if the existing problems are not fixed then only people with faster computers will be able to access the site.

Can the graphics be minimized would that help the situation a bit?

Thank-you to everyone who has worked on the new site, and thank-you to anyone who can make it accessible for all.

Peace, Janet

I am ONE of those people who is having issues with the New Seal Site. I think it's a pretty petty attitude to take of stay with the times or you're out of luck. Sorry,,but my feathers just got ruffled. Not everyone can afford to always stay current. Seems a bit elitest if you ask me.

I mean no disrepect...but I was irked by your post.
