Loyalty lies not when things go well, but if you continue to be there even when they don't

Big Grin

I heard on a recent radio interview that Seal mentioned he made Soul because it allows people to hear him sing like they may not have been accustomed too in the past.

In general there is always more than meets the eye ;-)

All in all, seems like Soul was a very successful album, 3 million worldwide sales sounds good to me, and certainly the chart positions around the world seem to suggest this was a good result for Warner and Seal

Well...if you think about it...

Seal started out with KILLER...which was totally a DANCE song...therefore, I believe that DANCE/Club or whatever you want to call it is his passion. And why not produce what you love!!!

Every SEAL album has dance song on them!!!

As far as I am concerned, I am glad Seal is being adventurous with his style and if he truly produces a Brazilian Dance album...it will be totally amazing!!! And we - the supportive fans - will certainly go out and buy a copy!!! Big Grin

as i said before im not a huge fan of the soul album but i am glad to see its still in our walmart shop in their chart at no 37 which i think is good cos its been out a while now.... Big Grin go seal . also i saw seal perform on a tv programme in the uk and his performance of man's world was the most polished ive ever seen.. he nailed it truly. me and my son were beaming at the end of the song . the tour was announced a while after and i am very happy to be going to see him again. i think your mood can decide wether you want to listen to an album or not so i think just go with the flow what you dont like one day can be a treasure on another.....i always find seal's voice soothing whatver the song. Big Grin luv sue xx

My thoughts exactly. Honestly the Brazilian dance album is more likely to be a return to Seal's roots than System. At this point it would be hard for me not to like whatever Seal does put out. I didn't like System...at first, now it's all I listen to, well, that and Soul.

I was however trying to make the point that assuming Warner Brothers wanted to squeeze the most profit out of Seal, they would push him to make a Seal'94-like album. Deef was making the case that since System didn't earm much in sales, that Warner Brothers should make Seal make a slower Seal'94-like album rather than the Brazilian dance type album.

My attitude towards this is I will take whatever Seal gives us...that is unless he loses a few chromosomes and goes to the funny farm only to put out some crappy pop album that somehow finds its way to the radio even though everyone and their neighbor doesn't have any fondness to the rehash of "I've lost it, so give me attention and by my crappy album" pop artist blues, if you catch my drift.

If the album has a few good songs on it, I'll probably do the same with 'Soul'. I bought individual songs.

I see the "Brazilian" album as being a kind of homage to his mother's heritage.

Concerning WB, it's a good thing their film division is doing well because the music division is hemmoraging money.

They could do the digital kiosk thingy in malls. Kids would flock to them with their Ipods and Walkmans. The kids could either use prepaid cards for the purchases, or cash, and they could download them right at the kiosk. CD sales down? Innovation is the key Wink A WB kiosk would be cool...you could deck it out with all kinds of promos. It could be in record stores, or out in the mall isles.

Progress with the times,

Seal needs a kiosk...hehehe Big Grin

I've been a fan from day 1, and what I love Seal for is his psychological lyrics juxtaposed with his deep soothsayer voice. The rhythms and interesting fractal songwriting style is also an attribute. His music has helped me in my life in so many ways from making me feel free and alive to healing me in ways better than an old friend.
I Love HIS music. He sings his music best. I would be much happier if he spent his creativity only on his own music.
And it wouldn't be a Seal album if there wasn't a few dance tracks on it. I can say in confiDANCE, that any Seal fan loves to dance.

Soul has to be my least favourite Seal album (I don't actually consider it an official album) but this news film Billboard has to be good:

'• "If You Don't Know Me by Now" lifts 12-10 at AC, granting Seal his first top 10 at the format since the No. 4 "Love's Divine" in 2004. The singer also reached the top bracket with "Kiss From a Rose" (No. 1, 1995), "Don't Cry" (No. 4, 1996) and "Fly Like an Eagle" (No. 9, 1997). His current hit is just the fifth non-holiday title that was previously performed by two other artists to reach the top 10 in the past 20 years.'

I hope that the new album will be an album with his own songs.
and i don't mind if it's an album like 'System' because that album really was not bad at all,but really good.
