I was on Amazon and found what appeared to be legitimately released CD and DVD versions of Seal's 1996 MTV Unplugged performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
I just received them today and they are obviously unauthorized bootlegs. The packaging (cases, artwork) is pretty advanced for a bootleg but the video/audio quality is terrible.
It looks/sounds like someone filmed their TV set with a camcorder when the show was on and then transferred it to VHS and then again to DVD. The CD is just a capture of the crappy audio from the DVD.
I know that there is an excellent version of the performance somewhere in the MTV archives because I have a DVD of the Classic Moments of MTV Unplugged that has Seal's amazing performance of Prayer for the Dying, definitely DVD quality there. Hopefully we will see an official release from MTV of the entire Unplugged series on BluRay and/or DVD.
I was hoping to be able to say that at least now I can watch the full performance but I just found myself getting more disappointed and upset the longer I watched it, I never finished it.
For now I'll stay with the FLAC version of the audio that I have on my PC and just run my Seal slideshow while listening, this is 100 times better than the crap I just wasted money on.

Maybe you can send it back for a refund. Contact Amazon and tell them that the dvd is black market and maybe they will pull it. It is the only way to stop it from continuing.
