I really don't want to do your homework for you, but here's my brief take on the song. The basic theme/message of the song from my understanding is for everyone just to 'get along.' Don't leave people in the dust. Respect other people's views if they're different from you. Have forgiveness. All in all: "Maybe be can the the vision of a prophet man's dream."
It's a very common message among Seal's music...think 'Future Love Paradise' and 'Love is Better.'
Old man Honeycutt walked from Pyatt to his home 2 miles away. He was crossin' Crooked Creek, when his wife heard him callin' "Sissy, come and get me...I'm somewhere over the moon" (the moon was shining on the water). Future Love Paradise
Goodluck with your project. You could take each line of Get it Together and write down what you think each line means. Your project should be from your point of view.I hope you get a good grade on it.

I have an obscure view of the song hope this helps a bit.
Every person is considered a star. SOme take that view as to mean that the universe is a big place and without people in it the magnificience is thus lessened. The idea of dominion is still a very reasonable idea of living on a planet being above animals. But having the authority to complete what could be heaven on earth. Many of Seal's songs have a contintuation of a similar theme. Transpose a verse you have creative influence for another hit. anyhow, the lyrics are (below) so you can see them. Remember much of the world is fuled by war and civil infighting. Throughout history it continues the section claiming land and this section claiming birthright. Many people blame these people for stolen land and these people are not in agreeance with the curent government. There is alot going on al over the world and what is happening is that Seal is visiting alot of these places and seeing more it. Good luck on the assignment.

quote:
"Get It Together"
Now's the time for stepping out of place Get up on your feet and give account of your faith Pray to god or something or whatever you do What I see can make me stop and stare But who am I to judge the color of your hair Surely all you're feeling much the same as I do
We got to keep this world together, got to keep it moving straight Love like we need forever, so that people can relate If you're rolling to your left, don't forget I'm on the right Trust and forgive each other A little love and we just might
(We gotta do something, we gotta do something, we gotta do something) Thinking of the troubles of today is it easier to put that gun away Or is it difficult to stop the world to show you care Everything, everyone we know is beautiful Surely you will be the guide in light to see us all Maybe we can be the vision of a perfect man's dream
We got to keep this world together, got to keep it moving straight Love like we need forever, so that people can relate If you're rolling to your left, don't forget I'm on the right Trust and forgive each other A little love and we just might
(I have something, do you have something 'cause I have something for you) (I have something, do you have something 'cause I have something for you) (I have something, do you have something 'cause I have something for you) (I have something for you)
We got to keep this world together, got to keep it moving straight Love like we need forever, so that people can relate If you're rolling to your left, don't forget I'm on the right Trust and forgive each other A little love and we just might
We got to keep this world together, got to keep it moving straight Love like we need each other, so that people can relate If you're rolling to your left, don't forget I'm on the right Trust and forgive each other A little love and we just might
