So, I understand most of the lyrics of most songs now except this one...I don't understand what is in brown. I might have one or two other mistakes, but hopefully this should make sense.

'video' could quite easily be 'the deal', although 'video' does relate to 'some vision' though.

I couldn't quite work out 'sudan', I thought it could be 'sedan' (a type of car)?

to be honest for me is "video" more possible than "the deal". it definitly doesnt sound like "the deal".

(I take it as 'the deal.')

I'm still not 100% conviced that it is video. Here's my reason:

Right after that part Seal then sings;

"Just when you thought you were lonely
They put you under the right spell
Wake up tomorrow you’re gonna be
Living the right life"

So you've got a guy (Seal) caught up in his own life living in the streets trying to find a better way/find his answer. Then someone comes in and invites him "come if it feels right, the time is now", and puts him under his/her spell. Thus the 'lost guy makes the deal' to elevate himself in society. And to further the point, I remember Seal said the song reminded him of when he was starting out trying to get his break in the music industry.

But, as I'm sure you've seen I've been wrong a lot before, so there's a good solid chance that it is video. So maybe I've just made a fool of myself, but that's the way I see it. What do you think?

I wish I could pinpoint what it IS about this song that I don't like. I actually skip this one now.

isnt it funny i have to turn off amazing ive heard it too much the rest i can listen to over and over Rollin stands out as the classiest track, but i like the right life cos it reminds me of sunny holidays oh how i wish the sun would come back its so gloomy today. luv sue xx

it's always like that... if one single comes out you hear it again and again and again... and then, when finally the album comes out, you are tired of the song becuz you are fed up with it i am skipping amazing too... lol.

It's been too long since I've posted here. Anyway glad to be back. I love this new Seal album more with each listen. He did us right.

I've listened to the song quite a few times and below is what I have transcribed. In determining the lyrics I tried to listen keeping in mind how Seal writes songs and whether it makes sense in regards to the song. The only line I'm still struggling with is marked with a ? mark. However I know it's not "All I want is a new sudan" because that line ends with Seal ending the word with a "ay," and not an "an." Plus, the only time I've ever heard Seal bring in the brand name of a car, or anything, was on "Let Me Roll," and well...

I agree. Amazing's a great song, but between the commercials/promos it's been used for and just overplay on my iPod, I'm a bit burned out on the song. But "The Right Life" is my favorite song right now and what I think is the best single off this album. "Dumb" is my absolute favorite though and I love "Rolling" though it made me cry one of the first few times I heard it; it just described where I was at at that time in my life. Beautiful song.
