i wash my faith in dirty water? what do these lyrics say to you ! they are very decritive to me of a person who might be dangling into things that might be good 1 what are your insights on this,love marci

First off I got scared when I read "wash" I thought oh no Sealfan strikes again! LOL . But seriously now I love these lyrics alot some of my fav I can idetifiy with them. In all honesty have no idea what Seal means but I can tell you what they mean to me. Going against the norm and coming out with a clear head. It means to me my faith comes from within and washing it in dirty water is mingling it with society relating it with others and setting my mind @ ease.

" I wash my faith in dirty water, cause it gives my mind a sense of order" Yea, I can see that. If you wash your face in clear water, then you miss all that is happening around you that isn't so clear...for some people faith isn't so opaque. You have to wash in the dirty rivers of your soul to straighten your thoughts out. To see what/who you really are, and what role faith plays in your life. Love, Janet

EEEEEEE.....hahaha Rita, Run away, Run away!! To me those words mean....we can go through all our "unpleasant" experiences in life and hopefully come out of them with our faith still intact, faith in our self and something greater....if you don't "wash"(be in the now) your faith in "dirty"(bad things) water you may never know what you are really made of. That is just an interpretation from my own personal experiences though.....hehe

i havent read through the posts,but instinctively." i wash my face in dirty water,cos it gives my mind a little order" its extreme dirt, that brings out clealiness. we may have been bad/ done wrong (dirt)but we have to clean-out our minds and our ways to get better.

in my point of view,it reminds me of the extremes of "we're never gonna survive unless we all get a little crazy"
we have to be daring, try new things, which may seem ood, but turns out all good.
it reminds me of the biblical verse that says God's ways are not our ways.
i remember Namaan the leper being told to wash himself seven times in the river Jordan, which was at the time the least important ( for all you know the dirtiest rivers of those days) but Namaan did and came out more than clean.
so i think we sometimes have to go to the extremes,like to the stage where people who think they know it all.will call us crazy, but then we come out all wiser than the said "wisemen/sane men"
it also reminds me of surviving a stormy time in ones life, the surviver comes out cleaner and much refreshed.

Perhaps there is some substance to that quote. I was thinking of millions who bathe in the river Ganges for spiritual enlightenment as it is a more modern example... but there is a truth in there somewhere regarding cleansing, rebirth, refreshing- perhaps something Seal witnessed or experienced himself. Water in any form to comfort or cool a heated brow, the fever of fatigue and disillusion. Both in the physical and metaphysical world. Each applies healing and comfort.
Very cool lyric definitely.

Wow. Well it doesn't seem that Sir Seal invites pain and suffering into his life, but he's had his fair share of it (right?). Seems like a quite right attitude to bear when life throws you those curve balls (again & again).

If you swing at the curve ball, you deal with a strike. If you lean in with the bat, and get struck by the ball, then you walk to first. If you just stand still with the bat ready and let the curve hit the umpire mitt, you're still in the game for a few more throws..."I play that game just like I should do, and the whole world just slips away"
