I cannnot say just yet. I am still sorting out a few things . I have since found that life on mars song was a david Bowie song and not one of his own and I also have not heard the Togehterland cd yet. ( I know I am not up on things).

I would say at present if I had to say... (now)
Janet has an excellent choice for human beings. Great album. I like the albums that are not done so greatly. To much mastering on the studio end takes away from the raw character of the song sometimes.

Bono would not sound right on 'BAD' *unforgettable Fire - if the studio tricks were used.

Miles davis 'Twinkle' *Live Around the World - would not sound right without being recorded so well LIVE.

My argument to not answering the question is because Seal has in his efforts wanted to? has shown desire to? sing soulfully without creating a sound which seperates his current form. True Seal is and can be the voice of crooning for the next 50 years. True! But his ability to truly make music as a dark complected person is not an easy thing to acomplish without compromising. I feel that may be found in the album togetherland. I am guessing it is a seperation of his current style from the adaptation or attempts at soulful singing.

anyhow Seal's best album is his live album from MTV unplugged. He performs better than any performer live and due to that show He became recognized and taken seriously. As an artist his greatest ability as a perfomer is his live personality. IMHo!

Hi Gareth,

Good points. If you go back to Seal's press kit video from his early years, then you will hear how he really feels about recording his music.
I think he states that he put one song on a tape that was raw edge and you heard everything even the little imperfections in his voice, but he was really into the song...yea? There were no studio enhancements. I get his drift on that bigtime...you get the emotion...the realness...you get Seal Unplugged...oh yeah Wink

Seal live...well... he is amazing. That is why I posted some of the live versions to his songs...he can rock the baby! Give us the Sealness Wink Live and not Memorex!

Love, Janet

Exactly Janet,

Exactly my point.

I still have to go and visit your site and see the vids. Once I get a chance. I may do it today, if not now.
