I Think that HB is the essence of Seal. It brings out all of his emotions in dealing with everday issues. What do you all think? There is such a rich tapestry of emotions running through this album. Love, Janet

well... i think people r changing through the years tho they never change their style.. and so Seal's style is honesty. He's been true in his first album. It was like he was chalenging life, people, everything to see him, to understand he is a fighter and a searcher. He was the same in his second album, may be lil bit pleased from the fame, keeps the line he started with but... oh there... human being. it's always deep when people r honest about their suffering to the point where it starts hurting us as well. Open, sad, disappointed, in search for the balance, passing doors, passing dark caves, passing false happinesses, asking too much questions. And again it was him... i felt him a lil bit lost. If a tear can have a smile then it was him... and there u go... Seal 4 - the essence of what he was searching for since the start of it all - calm, loving, grown, known and unknown but it's all just COOL. The peace has been like a dream to him till this last album. I don't think he's been in peace till then or tha he had found the love he wanted but if u shout long enought at the universe she will give u in the end what u were wishing for. And so she did... in a word - it's always him. if i got to pick four cards from the tarot according to his albums... then they will go: the chariot (the card of the painfull victory), the lovers (the card of the dilema), the death (the card of the re-birth), the empress (the card of the love's voice)... and if i got to pick a fifth card? let it be the justice (Themis with eyes opened - the spiritual victory) I hope he will stay a searcher. We are all children after all...

I don't think I could choose, based on my inexperience, but also on a person's individual life cycles... At the time of those cycles our spirits are indead unfurling or developing- first we are empty branches, then pods and buds, then tender leaves, mature leaves, blossoms and then fruits or in my case "little nuts"... (we're never gonna survive unless we are a little crazy- a pun was intended in reference to the nuts. ) At the time of development- the essence- or being was different, then grew into something else, yet retaining a part of the original characteristic... My opinion.

True, so very true...he found his love of his life and making music and new babies is what Seal does best to make this world come together as one should. Smile for it is another day.

I used to think it was crazy that defined him, and i bet it was. Then he grew a little and it was I'm Alive. Then i believe it went to Touch, and where it will be next will have to wait for the new cd.

I haven't heard the song Touch in a long time, ever since my only cd's that had that got a nasty scratch and wouldn't play in my car.
Definately that could/would be his next one. Guess all of us will have to wait and hear.

TWO WORDS "HUMAN BEING" (I think he was at a fork in the road with his life, career direction, love life etc) and this album hits it own the spot. Listen to 'When a Man is Wrong' and 'Colour' and imagine.

Seal IV. cuz its recent to himself which is his essence. We evolve. We change to what we really are.

I know what you are saying Bob I agree that we evolve. I have evolved since I have been on this site. I am alot stronger than I ever thought I could be. So people do change in different degrees over the years.

As for Seal? He did mention that "Get It Together" was his anthem, and his forum is bringing us all together with his music.

Maybe, just maybe I'm waaaaaaaaaaaay off base on each. We all have our own opinions and that, my friends, is beautiful. I believe each album reflects who Seal was at the time- an audible snapshot. Here's to many more albums to analyze!

Cool post... I would have to say Human Beings but some reaon Seal does not like this album as much.

Also my favourite Seal lyrics. It`s clearly to see that he was somehow lost and that moment was like a turningpoint.

I think that Love's Divine is probably the best demonstration of the power of his voice to cut through the peasoup fog that music can be at times. I believe that that is the essence of Seal, that ability to make the world stand up and listen to your voice.

As far as the question goes, I think his essense is an emotional truth, which holds a great deal of power.

I think his first album "Seal" was definitely the most powerful emotionally.

Human Being is a close second in emotional power.

Seal IV is so uplifting...what a change from the sorrow and hope of his first album. I beleive his profesy is being fulfilled.

I think he has found happiness through his journey...and therefore all the albums show his journey. They are all powerful in their own way.
