i bought it, and i have the other two albums, i think the lack of press, but it had some great songs which got played in movies, like in entrapment, that was a good song. For example i didn't know he made a song for the family man until i rented it and saw the xtras, i just think a lack of good p.r.-ing and rotation on tv and radio.

I've purchased Human Being at least three times (I always seem to have to replace my favorite CDs. I thought that they weren't supposed to scratch like vinyl did?). I find that I listen to it and to Seal91 more than I do Seal94 because the songs seem to be more heartfelt and personal. Seal94 sounds more poppy and brash to me now. I do still like a lot of the songs, but when I have to have a Seal fix, I usually reach for Human Being.

Hi!

Just joined... glad to find this forum. Can't wait for the new record to drop!

I bought Human Being the day it came out, with as much anticipation as I have today for IV. At first I thought "hmmm... different sound than the first two." But after 2 or 3 listens, I was hooked and ended up loving it. It's a great record.

I hope Warner Bros. promotes the new one better than the last!

Cool

I Bought HB When it first came out, & was blowm away yet again. how infectious can one singer/songwriter be? Not one bad song on the whole cd. I also had the pleasure of seeing him on that tour, & it was a magical night.Performed almost the whole cd plus all his hits. Looking forward to the new cd. It's been long overdue.

Next to Seal 1994, Human Being is my favorite album. I wish it had been more successful than it was, and I was disappointed to hear that Seal himself had basically said that it was not his best work. I loved it, though. Probably the worst that could be said about it is that it might be rather uneven, but other than that, each and every song is simply beautiful.

I bought Human Beings and loved it. I was disappointed that it didn't get promoted more on the music tv shows and radio stations when it came out.

its become one of my favorite albums. and no, not 4 the naked picture on the cover. Eek

i think its the most personal and most honest. it would take alot for me to like anything by him more than that.. but hey.. he's got the rest of his life.

I bought Human Being the very day it was released. I also play it in my car everywhere I go, along with the other 2 albums. I love it, the tour was fantastic, I think I embarrassed my husband during the concert while singing along... I don't care if it wasn't a huge commercial success, real Seal fans know better.

Human Being was a slowly learned love affair for me. There were some tracks I immediately adored, like "State of Grace" and "Lost My Faith", but for the most part, the album seemed so.. convoluted. The music didn't bounce like Seal I, it didn't swirl around you in a brilliant array of sound like Seal II, and the lyrics had this dark, dark quality that I wasn't used to Seal professing.
But as it turned out.. it's the album I most often pop in. The music isn't, as I once judged it, shallow. No, no; it's *subtle*, and quietly profound. And the lyrics aren't dark; they are, like William Blake's "Songs of Innocence and Experience", an honest to goodness portrayal of the human condition. Seal just infused his message of hope with a little reminder that "this life thing isn't easy, just worth it".

Hi everybody!! This is my first post!!!
I didn't know this place existed...very cool.
I bought Human Being when it first came out.
At first I was a little disappointed.....but
then I lost a lot of my C.D.'s(flood) and HB was one of them. I just recently bought a used
copy of HB again. This time I really LOVE it!!!! It sounds so mature, especially the music. I really love his first 2 C.D.'s.....
but HB is amazing!!!!
I Can't wait until the new one on Sept. 9th!!!!

i will always buy any seal album, just like i've bought all p. gabriel and jefrey gaines records. hb was a bit of a letdown. it had none of 91's underground stylings nor 94's mainstream pop craftmanship. what it had was this quiet storm adult contemporary radio feel that put it next to a carpenters record stylewise. i know seal can do better. to illustrate what i'm saying, compare any song in it to his cover of hendrix's "manic depression" or 91's "show me".

Not only bought, but wore out and repurchased! Is it possible to play "Lost My Faith" without cranking the volume?

I bought 2 copies of Human Being, (1 steal by a "friend"
I bought 3 copies of Seal 2, (1 was broken for using, 1 was broken by a "friend"
I bought 3 copies of Seal 1 (1 speaker jump over my Hi-FI when vinile disk was playing, 1 was broke for using)
I hope that I will buy this new cd only 1 time, because I will not show to anybody.
Seal, if you read this, you must know that I made you a little more rich. When you come to Spain I will accept you a reward.

I brought Human Being in its first week of release and was more than ever pleased with the unique vocal output that only Seal has. The album from start to finish is purely REFRESHING. This CD is very personal to myself and I suppose very close to most of our hearts as the lyrics are soul stirring and very powerful to relate to.

I just hope Seal does not lose his midas touch and goes all commercial on us and produce crap music and crap lyrics that have none or little meaning.

Money is not everything, when you have a lot of it. Only identity is vital. So Seal dont make the mistake!!!!!
