Yo Chris!
How goes it? Jammin' as usual eh?

Musical director, is that a tough gig at times?

I understand you might be the musical scout too?
Rumor has is that Darren and Ramey are part of your scouting talents. How did you find them?

Oh and which do you like best the bass or guitar? My bet is the bass cause you're so low key....(sorry bad joke).

take care,
fast

Ok I forgot my usual question which no interview would be complete without. What is your favourite food Chris? I find you get a good feel of a person by knowing what they like to eat. Big Grin

Chris, when you are up on stage what goes through your mind as you are playing? Are you feeling the music, and totally in the groove? Or do you think of family and friends while you are playing? Do you ever look into the audience and ever wonder about the people you are preforming for? Or has art just become a job, and the bass just a tool? I love to jump in and swim around the pond a few times Wink Love, and Peace, Janet

Hi Chris,
I have got two questions for you:
Do you make an effort to explore the places you are touring or do you need the down time to unwind, gather strength for the next performance, write?
When writing songs, do you prefer to have the lyrics first and then work on the music or is it more fun for you to have a melody first?

Thanks for the wonderful music at the concerts. I can't wait for a live recording.

Hattie

Greetings Chris, I know that your are a brilliant artist because you are working with the best. Just one question, what life lessons have you learned from Seal? I know that you Ramy, and Seal come to deep understandings on the tour bus.

Chris, how did you discover Van Hunt? Are you the one instrumental in getting them as an opening act?

Thanks! Big Grin

Hey there Chris!

Gotta say - loving your work with Me'shell and Seal ... any chance you could, possibly, ring both of them up and say "I've booked some studio time this evening .. I want you BOTH to be there!" haha! That would be tooo smoooooth!

Also, could you tell us what moisturizers you use ... cos DAMN! ... there I was thinking you were an 18 year old whizz among the "more mature" folk in the band (LOL!) and it turns out youve been working with Seal for over 12 years! No way Seal toured with a 6 year old kid on bass guitar back in the day!!!!

Also ... you've worked with pop (alanis) rap (bell biv devoe - from waaay back!) and jazz (david sanborn) artists ... if you were to direct a "tribute" album of music that inspires you, what genre would be featured the most?

Oh ... and finally ... any chance as "Musical Director" you could include some Violet and Touch into the tour repertoire?? (had to ask!!)

Hi Chris

you play bass guitar on stage but not on the album (except Get it together) where you play guitar instead. I wondered why...

and if you have just any subject you want to share with us, make your own question to answer.

Thanks a lot in advance !

Chris, How do you deal with the fame? You have been with Seal for several years now. Can you go to Mcdonalds and get a burger without being noticed, or is it the reverse, and you wish you were asked for more autographs, and photos? Being famous can be a double edged sword...yes? Love, Janet Wink

One more question...

Hypothetically speaking, if you were not a musical director or bass guitarist, what else could you see yourself doing in life as a career?

Chris,

I wanted to first of all say congratulations on a successful tour (WORLD). I am unsure of all of your accolades, which, may have deservedly promted you to be infused with such an elaborate production. He who rocks the cradle perhaps, puts a child to sleep! He who rocks the world gets to go places and Jam with (Our favorite artist). Ramy blew me away with his professional affection for your 'Directorship part' in making this beast (tour) work. I've watched alot of the technical and digital parts get tracked at concerts. Maintaining authenticity in its replication is a task well done or nightmarish. Your new drummer (Ramy Antoun) Seems, especially, pleased; as are many of the people whose reports from the current concert perfomance have detailed it as a remarkable occasion. I trust their opinons and wish to say, what has already been said - Thank-You!

[Redundant by now I am sure but anyhow Thanx!!]

I wondered how the old bassist fit into the mix especially with his old band etc., etc., etc..

If I could ask any question I guess it would be:

Working in this time in this day and age just going to work and putting on one sock at a time. How is it that your able to walk so closely into the annals of history with what is revered as a respected music Icon" I mean I held Him in my arms and I did not want to let him go. I did not want to hold onto to him for concern that; I might not let him go!
[no attatchment/detatchment issues here]!

Seriously, tomorrow is what today has promised and you all have left in the wake of an auspicious time a sentiment of both character and Pitch, for which; human frailty is so ambiguously set.

Heros do not go off and save the world They live their lives - intent and purposefully. Saving the world is a conn man's game. Many who seek to; often look to settle up at the `END` with their hands open, not closed.

Is our *Knight infinitely resolved?
Are there questions without a faith - a knowingness arduously contemplated through sheers of madness and lucid estrangement?
Greatness is often times queer! So what is he, Who is he, How is he ?-? In many of the aspects that include OUR personal lives! Being personally interested in probing a bit further beyond the skin, pictures and mysticism. What wakes and sleeps as a man? What creates music and has soul? What words devote such things into our minds as to foolishly hope (often with tears, remembrance and conclusion).

Tell, us this! I ask you this lonesome. Reply in words or in song. Both if you wish. I just ask to be informed is all. If through your... hmmm... experiences I will know the answer you intend then, I will listen to you.

To mr. Chris Bruce:

What notes and chords do you prefer to play and how does that make you feel?

Also I am curious about the type of your guitar,...As I can recognise certain types, like the Gibson Guitar in one of my posts...

Hi Chris,
Who are some of your favourite artists - not just as an influence but just someone you like to listen to when you're relaxing?

Thanks!

Chris as one of the "elder" members of this site, I have a very serious question to ask you:

Which do you think is the best: Walmart or Target? Explain.

Thank You.
