Personally, I think it is the best of his CDs, but I wanted to know if I was the only one who bought it. Also, why do you think the album didn't do so well on the charts?

Sincerely, Human Being is the best album of Seal, that have nothing to do with the way it been popular or not, let's say it's was not very commercial, but the best, i think the same about TogetherLand but we won't have the chance to hear it Frown too bad Éric

I, of course, bought Human Being and not only the album but also the singles that came of it!
(sadley not much singles and not much remixes)

in reaction to Lura A. Rogers buying 2 coppies from each album...Does anybody know if there are more versions available from HB. When Seal first came out in 1990 i remember that there were two different versions. You never knew wich one you bought, the sleeves where idinticale, but some songs where mixed differently.
Anyone? was this just for the first album or did they do that again?

SmileI absolutely love the Human Beings album. I purchased as soon as it was realeased in 98. I remember and interview with Seal where he expressed a disappointment with the album and its reception...but is by far one of my all time favorites. I am so glad I discovered this forum and to find out that Seal is releasing his new album on the day after my birthday. What a great present. Peace to all

Not only did I buy Human Being, which I think is a good album, I saw the HB tour in Seattle and it was incredible.
HB was a lot darker and less "accessable" than the 2 previous albums. At first, I didnt care much for it, but I now consider it to be his best album. The one he wrote the fans, himself, and his love of music.

Okay, so we have about seven people who have addressed love for Human Being. Anyone else care to comment on HB?

Human Being is about art and honest expression. It's personal and intimate - and definitely far from being commercially acceptable.

Coming from Sealfans.net, I know that there were often threads that commented on tracks from HB being some of the best of Seal's work. This means that in the end, Seal won. He didn't make a lot of money, but he did leave a deep impression with all of us.

Of course I bought Human Being - another excellent album from Seal. It took some time for me to get to know it, but then I loved it.

But the best album from Seal is his second...in my opinion Smile

I also bought Human Being as soon as it came out without even hearing any sample of it and so far it's my favourite album: it's so intimate and thrilling. I think this opus is the most accomplished of Seal's albums.

times new roman
As bright and wide as Seal(II) was... I found Human Being more muffled (mix) and introverted. As moving as the previous album had been to me, personally... I found this album short of inspired; more pink floyd than, say, King's X, spiritually. But 'when a man is wrong' will move me to tears everytime. Beautiful art thru pain. (and what did Tony Levin wear on his fingers while playing 'latest craze'?) I guess this album just made me miss that 'arms open on the edge of a cliff' feeling that Seal II had given me (personally- opinion of course)

I bought the album when it first came out and loved it. I am sure the new one will be good as well. I like all of Seal's stuff. I have been a fan since the first album. Crazy!
